Matrix strengthens its Quality department with a new Mitutoyo QV Active

22/06/2026

Matrix Injection Moulds has added a new CNC vision measuring machine to its Quality department: a Mitutoyo QV Active 404, a system designed for high-precision dimensional control of mould components and injected parts.

The new system offers a measuring range of X = 400 mm, Y = 400 mm and Z = 200 mm, a resolution of 0.1 µm, a linear scale, colour CMOS camera and an 8-position zoom unit. This configuration enables measurements ranging from wide-view inspection to micro-measurement, adapting to parts of different sizes, geometries and levels of detail.

Its main functions include automatic edge detection, image autofocus, pattern search and continuous measurement of multiple parts in a single operation. These features help automate inspection tasks, improve measurement repeatability and reduce dependence on manual positioning or operator experience.

The equipment also includes different lighting systems, such as coaxial light, transmitted light and a four-quadrant LED ring, which make it easier to detect contours and critical areas of the part. This is especially useful for small components, complex surfaces or details that are difficult to verify using conventional systems.

With this addition, Matrix strengthens its Quality laboratory and expands its dimensional control capabilities, both for manufactured mould components and final injected parts during the testing and validation phases. A new resource to ensure precision, repeatability and traceability in highly demanding injection mould projects, while also strengthening customer confidence at every stage of the process.
